Some time ago, Adobe announced that the traditional VIP buying programme would be phased out and that by the beginning of 2025 it would fully transition to a new buying programme called VIP Marketplace (VIP MP) - a new, digital Adobe buying experience.

We want to let you know about an upcoming change to Adobe's VIP programme as part of our commitment to provide you with the best possible service.

Key benefits for end users

• Better overall experience-faster purchase, easier license management.
• No business interruption due to missed or delayed renewals with automatic renewal.
• Well-designed, value-added bundles for customers that can be created by resellers through the Reseller Marketplace.

The most important changes in the VIP Marketplace (MP) purchasing programme compared to the old VIP programme are:

• Daily proration in VIP MP until next anniversary date (AD) versus monthly proration in legacy VIP programme: In the VIP MP programme, end customers will be billed on a daily basis for all licences added in the interim.
• Automatic Renewal: Automatic renewals on anniversary date (AD) by default; with the option to opt out of automatic renewal (non-3-year commit customers only). Customers on auto-renewal can change products through their reseller at least 3 days before AD.
• No Grace Period: The VIP MP programme does not have a 30-day grace period for renewals. It is better to plan renewal purchases (get internal budget approvals) well in advance of the upcoming anniversary date.
• 3 Year Commit (3YC): It is not possible for 3YC customers to opt out of automatic renewal for the minimum 3-year commit quantity until the end of the customer's 3-year commit period. However, for upcoming renewals, customers may reduce their licences only up to the 3YC minimum commitment level. Returns are not accepted on 3YC orders.
• Returns: Returns are accepted if the entire order is returned and the licences are not currently in use. You must submit your return request within 10 days of the date the order was placed on Adobe's site or the date the order was placed on the Reseller Marketplace. All returns are subject to Adobe's approval. In addition, returns under 3YC are not permitted until the end of the 3-year commitment period.

Managing licences

The Admin Console is an online tool that allows organizations to manage their users, as well as add, assign, and reassign Adobe licenses. The member of your organisation who received the welcome email and agreed to the VIP Marketplace Terms and Conditions will be the first person who can access your organisation's Admin Console. Once this person accesses the Admin Console, they can begin managing licences, users, and assigning administrative rights to other members.

Volume Discounts

You can save even more as a VIP Marketplace member if your organisation qualifies for volume discounts. Purchase 10 or more licences during a licence period to qualify. Your discount will increase as you buy more licences. Follow the table below for details:

Account Anniversary Date

Your VIP anniversary date will be set to be 12 months from the date of your first order.

Additional discount with 3-year commit

For commercial and government customers, 3-year commit offers even greater discounts over 1-year subscriptions. When VIP Marketplace members accept the 3-year commit, their discount level will move to the corresponding 3-year commit discount level, which offers additional discounts.  For example, if a member at Discount Level 2 accepts the 3-year commitment, their VIP Marketplace agreement will be upgraded to Discount Level 12. In the same way, if a member at Discount Level 3 or 4 accepts a 3-year commit, then their agreement will be moved to Discount Level 13 or 14, respectively.

Extended prepaid subscription

Before placing their first order on the VIP Marketplace, members have the option to pay in advance for an extended subscription period of up to 48 months for educational institutions and 36 months for all others. This option makes it even easier for you to meet your purchasing and budgeting needs. With this option, you receive extended license terms and can select an anniversary date that matches your institution's budget plan. Before you sign up to the VIP Marketplace, you should discuss this option with your local reseller.
